Kittens are only available during the warmer months, so please e-mail us for current availability.

When you get your kitten, it will be at least 8 weeks old and need at least 3 meals a day. If you aren’t going to be home, leave kitten dry food down for it to eat while you are not there.

Kittens are usually very clean and will use a litter tray from the beginning. If puss has an accident, it may have simply been unable to find its way back to the litter tray. Pop the accident (or soak the urine in a tissue) into the litter tray. Kittens return to where they have been to the toilet before and this will help them learn to use the tray. You may also confine the kitten to the room where the litter tray is kept, until it is using the tray regularly. You may then gradually allow it more freedom.

Feed only kitten food and water. NO MILK! Or only milk that has been prepared especially for kittens. Many cats suffer from a lactose intolerance and milk can produce diarrhoea.

Kittens need worming every 2 weeks until 3 months old and then every 3 months for life. They also need vaccinating at 6-8 weeks, 12-14 weeks, and then 16-18 weeks and then annually. Please discuss with your veterinarian which vaccinations are recommended in your area.

Kittens love toys and to play, so if you are going to be out much of the time, consider getting 2 kittens! This not only helps prevent boredom, but also reduces the tendency for mischief that is firmly entrenched in every kitten's personality.

Please provide a warm, snug bed. A cat scratching post will give the kitten something safe to destroy, and in the process, save the wear and tear on your furniture. Cats will learn to prefer their scratching post to your favourite chair.
